Serving as an origin story, the film follows street-smart Drake as he teams up with veteran Sully (Mark Wahlberg) on a globe-trotting quest for legendary gold. Along the way, they face dangerous rivals, ancient secrets, and plenty of double-crosses.
Holland brings youthful charm, quick wit, and impressive physicality to Drake, while Wahlberg adds solid presence and great banter as Sully. The chemistry between them is one of the film’s biggest strengths. Sophia Ali and Antonio Banderas round out the cast with strong supporting turns.
The action is where *Uncharted* truly shines — especially that jaw-dropping mid-air cargo plane sequence and other creative set pieces that capture the spirit of the games. The visuals are vibrant, and the pace rarely slows down.
It may not reach the emotional depth of the best games, and the story follows familiar adventure tropes, but as a light, entertaining popcorn flick, it delivers exactly what it promises: fun, humor, and high-energy adventure.
