It’s Christmas at Coopers Chase Retirement Village — carols echo through the halls, mince pies are disappearing fast, and the Thursday Murder Club is planning nothing more dangerous than Secret Santa. But when the village’s charming but shady event planner drops dead in the middle of the Christmas Gala, the holidays turn deadly.

Elizabeth (Helen Mirren), with her MI6 instincts sharper than ever, knows it’s no accident. Joyce (Maggie Smith) starts a new diary titled “A Very Merry Murder,” Ron (Jim Broadbent) takes over as the self-appointed lead investigator, and Ibrahim (Pierce Brosnan) coolly profiles every guest on the suspect list — which, inconveniently, includes half the village.

As Detective Donna De Freitas (Olivia Colman) and her partner Chris (Dev Patel) juggle Christmas chaos with a full-blown murder case, they realize that the retirees might just be two steps ahead — again.
