Years after Miguel followed his dream of becoming a musician, life in Santa Cecilia feels peaceful. His family supports his music, the past has been forgiven, and the bond between the living and the Land of the Dead remains strong. But when the connection between the two worlds begins to weaken, Miguel realizes the story isn’t over yet.

During the Day of the Dead celebration, strange things start to happen. Photos disappear from the ofrenda, spirits cannot cross the bridge, and an old song no one remembers begins to play by itself. A forgotten legend speaks of a spirit who was erased from memory long ago — and now that spirit is trying to return.

With the help of Héctor, Mamá Imelda, and his family, Miguel travels back to the Land of the Dead once again.
