The trailer opens with the Chipmunks performing on stage as a voice says fame is never easy. When Dave signs them for a world tour, everything looks perfect… until a rival music group challenges them to a global competition. To win, the Chipmunks must travel around the world and prove they are still the best. 
Quick flashes show concerts in huge stadiums, funny accidents, Alvin causing trouble, Simon trying to fix everything, and Theodore getting lost backstage. The Chipettes return to help, but the rival band has a secret plan to stop the show.
