The trailer opens with a destroyed Asgard drifting through space as a deep voice speaks about the end of the age of gods. Strange forces begin to consume the Nine Realms, and an ancient enemy older than Odin returns to claim the power of eternity. Thor, now tired from endless battles, must rise one last time to protect everything he has ever fought for. 
Quick flashes show massive lightning storms, broken planets, and armies of gods fighting across the stars. We see Thor holding Mjolnir in one hand and Stormbreaker in the other, standing alone against a dark cosmic being. The trailer hints that this will be his final stand, where sacrifice may be the only way to save the universe.
