Ukraine Sends Anti-Drone Experts to Help Protect U.S. Bases

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has revealed that Ukraine is deploying a team of counter-drone specialists to the Middle East to help defend U.S. military installations from drone attacks.

In an interview published by The New York Times, Zelensky said Ukraine responded immediately after receiving a request for assistance and dispatched the first group of experts on March 6.

📌 Key details:

• Ukrainian anti-drone experts are being deployed to Jordan
• Their mission is to help protect U.S. military bases from drone attacks
• Another Ukrainian team may later assist additional countries in the region in intercepting Iranian UAVs

According to Zelensky, Ukrainian specialists have gained extensive battlefield experience countering Iranian-made drones during the war in Ukraine, making them highly effective at dealing with similar threats now appearing in the Middle East.

⚠️ The strategy focuses on cheaper and smarter counter-drone tactics, such as electronic warfare and rapid interception systems, instead of relying solely on expensive air-defense missiles like MIM‑104 Patriot.

The White House has not officially confirmed whether Washington formally requested Ukraine’s assistance.

🌍 Analysts say the move shows how modern conflicts are increasingly interconnected, with expertise from the war in Ukraine now being used to counter drone warfare linked to Iran in the Middle East.
