Hezbollah Targets Israel’s Iron Dome Network — Rockets Strike Near Haifa

Tensions sharply escalated in northern Israel after Hezbollah claimed it launched rockets and drones targeting key components of Israel’s air-defense network near the coastal city of Haifa. According to the group’s military wing, the strike focused on facilities connected to Rafael Advanced Defense Systems—the defense contractor responsible for developing the Iron Dome interceptor system.
Hezbollah stated that precision rockets and unmanned aerial vehicles were aimed at what it described as the “Iron Dome headquarters,” as well as the nearby Ramat David Airbase, a major Israeli Air Force installation that hosts combat squadrons and air-defense units tasked with protecting northern Israel.

Israeli defense officials reported that air-defense systems were activated shortly after the launches were detected, with several projectiles intercepted before reaching their targets. Sirens sounded across parts of northern Israel, forcing residents into shelters as the military assessed potential damage and searched for additional threats.
The strike marks a notable escalation, shifting Hezbollah’s attacks from routine border exchanges to high-value strategic targets linked to Israel’s advanced missile-defense infrastructure. Military analysts warn that targeting facilities connected to the Iron Dome network could signal an attempt to challenge Israel’s defensive shield while intensifying pressure along the northern front.
