Alien: Earth star Sydney Chandler told Deadline during a Texas Film Awards presser Thursday that production on Season 2 of the Noah Hawley-created FX series is commencing in May.

As has already been reported, production of Alien: Earth is segueing from Thailand to London’s Pinewood Studios, the later home to such Alien movies as the original 1979 movie, Alien 3, and prequel Prometheus.

Chandler tells us that she hasn’t seen any scripts yet for Season 2. News about the ramp-up has been brewing following an Instagram post six days ago by EP/producing director Dana Gonzales that read: “Super excited to start the journey of @alienearthfx season 2. World building in the Alien universe birthplace.”

Tonight, Chandler, who also starred in Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling, is being honored in Austin at the Texas Film Awards with the Rising Star Award. She’s also being inducted into the Texas Hall of Fame. Chandler, who began acting during Covid, also has a movie at SXSW next Thursday, the Brian Tetsuro Ivie-directed sci-fi comedy Anima, about a young woman and an old man who embark on a road trip to preserve his consciousness at an experimental facility.

On Alien: Earth, Chandler plays Wendy, the first hybrid and the leader of the “Lost Boys,” a group of six prototype hybrids built by the Prodigy Corporation from terminally ill children. She was previously known as Marcy Hermit before her transformation. In the season finale of Alien: Earth, she seizes control of the Neverland Island after leading a revolt against her creators. Another talent that Wendy has is communicating with the xenomorphs.

Hawley has said there won’t be a crossover between his Alien: Earth series and Dan Trachtenberg’s new Predator feature film franchise.
