Lord Liu Kang, now a god and protector of time, senses a disturbance in the timeline. Visions show entire realities collapsing, as if history itself is being rewritten.

Meanwhile, the sorcerer Shang Tsung returns, but not as the main threat. He forms a fragile alliance with Earthrealm’s champions, warning them of something far worse.

That threat is Onaga, the ancient Dragon King. Once the true ruler of Outworld, he has been resurrected by forbidden magic and seeks to reclaim all realms.

Unlike previous villains, Onaga does not want to conquer—he wants to merge every realm into a single reality under his control, erasing free will entirely.

To stop him, Liu Kang gathers a new generation of fighters alongside familiar warriors:

As portals tear open across Earth, cities become battlegrounds where Outworld creatures invade. The tournament is no longer contained—this is full-scale war.

Liu Kang discovers that Onaga’s power is tied to ancient relics scattered across realms. Each relic strengthens his control over reality itself.

The fighters split into teams to locate and destroy these relics, leading to brutal confrontations and personal sacrifices. Some allies fall, and trust becomes fragile.

In the final act, Onaga succeeds in partially merging the realms. The sky fractures, and reality begins to collapse into chaos.

Liu Kang confronts Onaga in a distorted dimension where time loops endlessly. Realizing brute force is not enough, Liu Kang risks everything by rewriting part of the timeline itself.

With the help of his allies, he creates a moment of vulnerability and defeats Onaga, but at a cost—history is altered once again.
