Ratatouille 2 (2026)

Ratatouille 2 is often imagined as a continuation of the beloved culinary adventure that began with the original Ratatouille, one of Pixar’s most celebrated animated films. The first movie told the story of Remy, a rat with extraordinary taste and smell who dreamed of becoming a chef in Paris. With the help of the clumsy but kindhearted Alfredo Linguini, Remy proved that great talent can come from the most unexpected places.

As the restaurant becomes more popular, the pressure to maintain its reputation grows. Linguini now has to manage the business side of the restaurant, while Colette pushes the kitchen to operate at a higher professional level. Meanwhile, Remy continues to work behind the scenes, secretly guiding every dish that leaves the kitchen. The challenge of hiding the truth about the restaurant’s true chef becomes increasingly difficult as fame spreads.

The central conflict of the film begins when a powerful international restaurant group becomes interested in the mysterious success of the Parisian bistro. Their investigation threatens to expose the secret that the greatest chef in the kitchen is actually a rat. At the same time, a famous food critic begins to question how such a small restaurant consistently produces dishes of extraordinary quality.

Remy’s character develops further in the sequel. In the first story, his dream was simply to cook and prove that talent could exist anywhere. In the second chapter, he struggles with the responsibilities that come with success. Creativity becomes harder when expectations grow, and Remy must rediscover the passion that originally inspired him.

The relationship between Remy and his rat family also evolves. Some members of the colony enjoy their new life helping with food preparation, while others believe Remy has taken dangerous risks by living so close to humans. This creates tension within the colony and forces Remy to balance loyalty to his family with his love for cooking.
