Hundreds of Iranian Missiles and Drones Fired at UAE Since Start of Conflict

The United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defence has released new figures detailing the scale of Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting the country since the conflict escalated on February 28.

According to the ministry, Iran has launched a total of 189 ballistic missiles toward the United Arab Emirates during this period. Air-defense systems successfully intercepted 175 of those missiles, while 13 fell into the sea before reaching land, preventing further damage on the ground.

In addition to ballistic missiles, authorities reported a massive wave of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). A total of 941 Iranian drones were detected approaching UAE airspace. Of those, 876 drones were intercepted and destroyed by air-defense systems, while 65 drones fell inside the country, though officials did not immediately detail the extent of any damage.

The ministry also confirmed that 8 cruise missiles were detected during the attacks, all of which were successfully intercepted and destroyed before reaching their intended targets.

Officials say the high interception rate demonstrates the effectiveness of the country’s integrated air-defense network, which includes advanced radar systems, interceptor missiles, and aerial patrols designed to protect major cities, oil infrastructure, and military installations.

Security analysts note that the scale of the attacks reflects one of the largest missile and drone barrages faced by the UAE in recent history, underscoring how the broader regional conflict is increasingly affecting Gulf nations beyond the immediate Iran–Israel battlefield.
