“Trust was only the beginning.”
Following the legacy of Raya and the Last Dragon, this imagined sequel returns to the breathtaking world of Kumandra — where unity was hard-won, but peace remains fragile.
Kelly Marie Tran reprises her role as Raya, now fully stepping into her mantle as Kumandra’s protector. With Sisu (voiced once again by Awkwafina) restored and evolving into an even more powerful dragon presence, the balance between dragons and humans appears stronger than ever — until a new, ancient force begins stirring beneath the world itself.
Unlike the mindless devastation of the Druun, this new threat is intelligent, strategic, and deeply connected to the forgotten origins of dragon magic. It feeds not only on fear — but on division.
Daniel Dae Kim returns as Chief Benja, representing wisdom and hope for lasting unity, while Gemma Chan’s Namaari plays a pivotal role in the sequel’s emotional core. No longer enemies, but not entirely free of their past, Raya and Namaari must confront lingering mistrust between Kumandra’s lands. Their alliance is no longer about survival — it’s about forgiveness.

New characters voiced by Michaela Coel and Henry Golding introduce fresh energy to the story, portraying leaders from distant territories and guardians of ancient dragon lore. Together, they uncover hidden sanctuaries, mythical sea-bound temples, and lost dragon clans whose magic predates even Sisu’s lineage.
Visually, the sequel expands the world dramatically — bioluminescent jungles, floating mountain shrines, storm-forged oceans, and celestial dragon spirits that blur the line between myth and memory.
But at its heart, Raya and the Last Dragon 2 remains deeply personal.
Raya faces a profound internal conflict:
Is unity built on compromise… or conviction?
To restore the full strength of dragon magic, she may have to sacrifice a part of herself — her certainty, her pride, or even her belief in absolute trust.
⭐ Verdict
Bigger in scale but just as intimate in theme, this sequel deepens the mythology while preserving the emotional resonance of the original. It’s a story about healing that doesn’t happen overnight, trust that must be rebuilt again and again, and the courage it takes to stand together when the world begins to fracture.
Because sometimes the greatest battle isn’t against darkness —
it’s against the cracks within. 🐉✨
