Russell Brand has pleaded not guilty to two additional charges, one of rape and one of sexual assault, according to reports.

He has previously pled not guilty to five other charges and is already due to appear in court this summer on these charges.

Questioned by Sky News outside the London courtroom today, he said he was feeling “blessed” ahead of the hearing. He was pictured arriving at the court in a trademark hat and low-cut shirt.

The two new charges are both alleged to have taken place in 2009.

The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star’s charges relate to two additional women on top of the previous charges, which were two of rape, one of indecent assault and two of sexual assault.

There is now a question over whether the two additional charges will become part of Brand’s trial, which is already set for this summer in the UK. He has previously denied all charges against him and said he is “incredibly grateful” to be able to defend the charges in court.

Detectives started investigating Brand around two years ago following a Channel 4 and Sunday Times investigation.

Given that Brand had been living in the U.S. full time and is something of a friend of MAGA, an extradition battle had been expected, but he has appeared in court in London for all pre-trial hearings either in person or via videolink.
